About Michael Schneider
Patent litigation and non-contentious advice.
Michael is a patent litigation specialist with more than 15 years of experience in representing and advising clients particularly in multi-jurisdictional infringement and validity disputes across a range of technical fields. He is a qualified German litigation counsel, and with German, English, and French as languages and substantial experience also in US patent litigation matters his focus is on helping clients to make the best use of their patents and related intellectual property rights across those jurisdictions. Michael regularly advises clients from the high-tech, telecoms, medical devices, and life science sectors on pre-litigation strategy, including SEP/FRAND considerations, and coordinates cross-border enforcement or defence litigation.
Michael is recognised as a thoughtful and highly committed advisor who combines legal skill with a deep understanding of clients’ business. His experience in concluding negotiated and litigation driven licensing deals and in neighbouring fields of law such as unfair competition and trade secrets enables him to achieve the commercial goals of his clients.
Prior to joining private practice Michael worked at the European Patent Office where he was involved in the negotiation and drafting of European patent litigation reform proposals. Together with his academic background of research and publication on the same subject at the Max-Planck-Institute in Munich this in-depth knowledge of the upcoming UPC litigation system will enable Michael and our patent litigation team to hit the ground running before the Munich and other Divisions of the new court.
