About Victoria Bentley
Victoria has over 12 years’ experience advising clients on a wide range of Intellectual Property issues, with a strong focus on patent litigation. She has a technical background in software development, enabling her to assist clients with patent issues in even the most complex technologies. Unusually, Victoria also has considerable experience in life sciences as well as medical devices patent litigation.
Speaking fluent German, Victoria provides a seamless service on matters with a German element and is experienced in working on multi-jurisdictional patent matters right across Europe. Victoria leads the team’s UPC training and since 2014 she has had published several articles on the unitary regime.
Clients benefit from Victoria’s technical background, enabling her to advise on high tech patents and issues in technology sectors, and her skill in quickly grasping diverse subject matter is often highlighted. Victoria has particular expertise in patent issues within wireless communications and other standards-based industries, including FRAND issues. She was lead associate on one of the largest patent cases brought before the court in England & Wales, involving 35 mobile communications patents. She has also played a leading role in major pharmaceutical patent litigation.
Victoria’s experience also covers international arbitration and mediation, and she has experience of working with counsel across Europe, as well as in the USA.
